Happy 114th Independence Day Philippines! It seems only yesterday when I was still in high school and we were celebrating the centennial! <3 Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
20th Century Battlefields - BBC
I’m sooooooooooooo in love with this documentary series! I’m obsessed with the storytelling and most especially, the use of the CGI sand tables! It makes you visualize and understand the events really well.
I have already watched the Falkland Wars and the Gulf War, and I’m now on the Korean War. I’m very giddy when I saw the Korean DMZ and the Joint Security Area. I lately realized that I’m very much into war and warfare, I mean I’m interested with the history and circumstances over the wars of the past. The earliest war that I can remember was the Gulf War. I was just barely 5 years old when it happened, but I can still remember the footage shown on our television of canons firing and jet (which I later on realized as bombers) flying on the air. I’m still a guy after all. LOL
When I saw my payslip and found out that my quarterly bonus and my holiday hours rendered were already reflected, I had the immediate and subconscious impulse to scamper and find something to spend on. I got online and looked for another bag and immediately followed by finding a telescope. Then, I got a reply from two of my classmates (who finished grad school just last semester) I had messaged much earlier on Facebook about the upcoming semester’s procedures for residency. I got an unsolicited advice to review right away on the theories and the type of questions that come up on the comprehensive exams.
SMACK. Less than three months before the exam!
I immediately scrapped my lust for another telescope, foreseeing that: 1) visibility will be extremely poor because of the impending rainy season, and 2) the last thing I needed was distraction from reviewing.
Now, the question will be should I be paying Php 40 just for residency or Php 1,200 for the library use. How many times will I be going to the library to review. At the back of my mind, I already know the answer —- it is NOT the perfect time to be a miser.
Good luck to me.
Ugh. I miss my friend, Ikle, so much. =’( I no longer have any camera whore around me to practice silly impromptu shots. Picture from June 14, 2008 when we were just loitering around the UP Campus.
I’ve been watching Fashion TV for almost an hour and they have featured Liu Wen a lot. I admit that I did not pay much attention to her before, even though I know of her existence. But her various backstage interview made me fall in love with her. She was very eager to express herself in the questions thrown at her and I was really impressed on how intelligible and sincere her answers were. What I noticed the most was the constant mention of her family. Being a child born from China’s one-child policy, her parents are very lucky to have this bomb for their one shot. She seemed to be really close to her parents and that is very admirable. <3
From now on, I will keep an eye on her (and sweet Sui He as well!)

Happy 3rd Anniversary to 2NE1!
I was not a fan in the beginning when I especially hated them in the Lollipop video with Big Bang.
It took them about two live performances before I became smitten —- all thanks to their June 7, 2009 SBS Inkigayo performance!
I can still remember vividly when the video for this was posted by a friend on Facebook. It was late Sunday evening when I decided to give them another shot with this second (if I’m not mistaken, or maybe third) performance of ‘Fire’.
I became obsessed with Bom’s Pebbles Flintstone-worthy look and I really loved the forest of fluorescent lights! From that moment on, I became an instant fan, always waiting for their outfit on future performances. It was an obsession. Three years flew very, very fast since their debut! Kickass bitches and the others can only frickin’ wish. =P
TIWOE (Things I Won on Ebay) #21
I know that I’ve previously mentioned that I won’t be buying any clutch / pouch because I have already salvaged my LV toiletry case six days ago for the same purpose. Well, I have already paid for this black vintage Christian Dior zipped pouch. It arrived in the mail few hours back and I was really excited. But when I opened it, I noticed that it was bigger than what I originally expected and the original listing seemed to show a plain black one. HOWEVER, this is much better than what I hoped for and the design was extremely discreet and less monogram-y. Dior doesn’t have a lot of monogrammed stuff unlike Gucci and Louis Vuitton, except the Girly stuff and another pattern they produced before.
It isn’t the most roomy but it can snugly fit inside a long wallet, a coin purse, a wallet and a regular-sized umbrella! I looked on Ebay.com and a similar item with the monogram material is currently for sale at US$ 129.00 (US$ 9.00 shipping not included). I’d like to think that I got a very good deal considering that I only paid wayyyyyyyy less than that amount. ^_^
Because the person in charge of taking care of the kids went to her province since last Saturday, and gave last minute notice that she’d be back by Thursday morning and NOT the agreed Monday (which was yesterday), I’ve got no choice but to bring my older nephew, Brandon, to the office with me. I’m a babysitter for the day. He was quite ecstatic because the last time he was here, he attended a Halloween party but he only stayed for a couple of hours. However, today, he’d be staying the whole nine hours with me. He was pretty disciplined and well-mannered, much to my relief. I just hated that the guards here misconstrued the guidelines for outsiders/non-employees to a kid. Ugh. No more smiles to all of you.
He played games on the PSP and the iPod touch, watched videos on my iPod and on streamed Avengers cartoons on my BlackBerry. But alas! almost two hours before my shift, drowsiness took him over and fell asleep to the chair next to me. I never had my nephew next to me this long within a day but I’m quite happy with the experience. Though I might be going to work tomorrow for just half the day… I no longer want any cringe-worthy moment with some people here, though it was already authorized by my immediate manager. WTF.
LOL It has been almost a year since my last Hong Kong trip with Mon. It pays to have lots of friends currently residing there, and we were literally apartment-hopping in our house clothes and flip flops. HAHAHAHA
I murdered a Louis Vuitton bag. LOL I both have this Amazone sling bag and this large toiletry case that I haven’t used in years because I finally ruined the zipper of the bigger compartment of the former and lost the zipper pull of the latter. While I don’t have any use with the Amazone because of its small capacity, I’m still in love with the toiletry case. So, to cut the crap, I took a longnose pliers from the toolbox once I got home and started this crazy DIY project! I’ve been looking online for another toiletry case, so in order to prevent another unimportant spending, it’s but quite rational to make use of what I currently have. Now, off to deodorizing this one because it smells like it has been stored for a long time LOL
Most people, with a definitive affinity to certain things, are more or less ardently looking for their holy grail.
For me, THIS exact Mulberry Piccadilly will do the trick. I’ve heard that it’s not exactly the most practical size, with the reinforced base making it extremely heavy, but who cares? If I have one, I would just be putting in nothing else but bills, a cellphone and keys. I’ll be very happy to have one, and I don’t mind it being extra slouchy. I normally love structured bags but this one will definitely get a free pass.
'O come 'ye HOLY GRAIL! <3
(And yeah, it is kind of despicable how the Alexa has been incessantly knocked off. And the smug look on the carriers of these fake bags. Bitch, please.)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! SHARON NEEDLES WON!!! <3<3<3
What a glorious day! I’ve been evading the net since this morning because I did not want any spoilers! The person I’m rooting for finally won! For three consecutive seasons, they end up as runner ups. But now, it was a wonderful result! Congratulations Sharon! (Michelle crying in the end was extremely touching =’D )
Willam always have the right words for everything and has the best comedic timing. =D No surprise over Latrice winning Miss Congeniality! Though, it was very apparent that a considerable amount of time passed by, judging by the tone of the contestants’ statements, particularly Phi Phi and Chad.
