When I found out that Nicki Minaj was featured in US Vogue March 2012… WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED? After all, she was sitting next to Anna five months ago in Carolina Herrera S/S 2012. By the sound of the editorial’s title ‘True Colors’, it must be a color explosion!!!

I remember seeing this EXACT LOOK from Dior Homme S/S 2007 (and the whole collection actually) more than 4 years ago, and I’m not proud to say that it pushed me to go rail thin. I started a calorie-restricted diet, and was obsessively conscious of my weight that I started looking from this:

(11/24/2006)
to this:

(07/17/2007)
I looked like a skeleton. Again, I’m not proud of it but everything I put on fit so perfectly. *sigh* I’m now confused. (Honestly, I really know what is the right thing to do, but I just tell myself “No. No. No!”. This is crazy, things like these are in the domain of the adolescents, but where am I exactly getting at. F*CK.)
I’m quite obsessive, yes. And I’m happy that I outgrew this tendency to go extremely skinny. Well, I still slightly do but I’m afraid of how much pressure I will put myself into because of this. I’m pressured enough with a lot of things and they are not really going well. Sooooooooooo… there, du temps en temps, I have issues. I remember posting months ago why I don’t watch men’s runway shows and prefer the women’s, well, this is the real reason. I fear a relapse. The moment I feel I’m beyond any pain in my stomach signals the start of something I fear and love at the same time. *SMH*

When I found out that our group was designated with “New York” for the things to wear for our company’s Christmas party (supposedly locations of TR around the world), I immediately thought of Natasha Poly’s finale look for Gucci S/S 2012! It is soooooooooo Chrysler Building and I’m actually thinking of making a shirt-version of this one! It will be heavy and perfect!

Alexander McQueen - S/S 2012
Just one look and you can still see the McQueen DNA. Sarah Burton is clearly taking the brand to a good direction. The texture in the clothes is amazing and they look much better moving than in pictures!

Lanvin S/S 2012
One of the shows I’ve been waiting for! The first thing that came into mind when I saw the picture above: “Lanvin not only doing separates, but pants?! Shocker!”
The brand is well-known for flowy fabrics and dresses, so I’m quite surprised Alber Elbaz did a handful of pants this time.

Before I hit the sack, I was finally able to see the pictures of Balmain S/S 2012! Anja Rubik opened the show, it was a clean ensemble in white, with embellishment! (Of course! But the gold on white seems a bit Versace S/S 2012 to me as well, as the same palette was shown in Milan recently.) But I hate the first outfit on Anna Selezneva. It’s just… what’s with the skirt in this material? The worst in this collection.

Anyway, I was initially a bit unsure of what direction the house will go after the departure of Decarnin, but clearly Olivier Rousteing retained the rock and roll influences from his predecessor. I’m okay with it! :p I love the rock and roll Balmain, even if it’s a bit tired for most people. I dig studs and other metals on clothes. <3 Give me a jacket and I’ll wear it even to bed.
Coincidentally, my most favoritest (double superlative for exaggeration lol) was also worn by Anna Selezneva! I’m having a rush just looking at it! HAHAHA

And now, I can hardly wait for Lanvin!!! <3

ARMANI - S/S 12Today I walked my exclusive show for Milan Fashion Week - Giorgio Armani. For the second season in a row Mr. Armani was kind enough to give me the privilege of opening the show, which is such a honor. (To watch the show go HERE)As Milan Fashion Week comes to a close many are asking if I’ll be walking in Paris Fashion Week. The answer is… we shall see! Right now I have to rush back to New York for a very important and exciting job. I know I claim to be “taking my 13th season off” but actually I’m busy as ever!!

I WAS REALLY HAPPY WHEN I OPENED STYLE.COM EARLIER AND SAW THIS!!! <3 YOU GO COCO!!! MWAH!!! <3

COCO ROCHA vs. LINDSEY WIXSON

I present to you, a nearly disastrous model collision on the Jean Paul Gaultier runway - March 5th, 2011.

THAT’S SCARY! AT LEAST NOBODY FELL! >_<

oh-so-coco:

After a one day trip back to New York to walk in Anna Sui’s show last night (backstage pics HERE) I’m now back in Paris for work today! A little tired…Can you believe today marks an entire year since I woke up to this newspaper headline at my front door? What a crazy few days where I was in the middle a media storm over this manufactured controversy. Some advised me to keep quiet and wait it out but at the time I decided to take the opportunity to speak my mind on the issue in an open letter I wrote a few days later. Its ironic, to say the least, that almost exactly a year later I’m now reading a series of blogs like THIS - again about my size, but now on the other end of the spectrum. One or two unflattering photos do not constitute an eating disorder. Neither does gaining a pound or two one season over the last constitute me “too fat”. I assure you, I am happy, fit and healthy as ever. I have to laugh though… its sort of ridiculous that the difference between being “too fat for the runway” and “unhealthily thin” is about 2 or 3 pounds these days. Its a bizzare world we live in…In case you didn’t catch it the first time, here’s my thoughts on models health issues. I’m still very proud of this piece and it remains at the core of my values.CLICK

AMEN.
